Calcarea phosphorica is considered to be one of the most important tissue remedies.

Indications

The following are the main indications for Calcarea phosphorica.[1], [2]

  • Tardy dentition, bone disease, non-union of fractured bones.
  • Anaemia from growing fast, excessive menses, and in children who are peevish, flabby, have cold limbs and feeble digestion
  • Vertigo with running from nose and aching in bones
  • Headaches from exertion, mental exertion, and in school girls. Headaches especially near region of sutures, from change of weather. Cold or sore vertex, as of ice in occiput. Burning heat in vertex, running down to toes.
  • Flatulent, cutting, sharp colic, followed by diarrhea. Empty, sinking sensation around navel, or in whole abdomen. Motion in abdomen, as of something alive

Other common conditions: Pthisis, Mesenteric tuberculosis, Cheiranthus (effects of cutting wisdom teeth)

Tissue Salts

  • As a tissue salt, Calcarea phosphorica (calc phos) is commonly used for anemia, to promote healthy cellular activity, and to restore tone to weakened organs and tissues. It is also used for rickets, renal calculi, hydrocele, eczema, skin problems, otitis with thick creamy and yellowish discharge, and for headaches in school children.
  • Calc phos is also used to stimulate the union of fractures.

Characteristics

  • Triggers: Overgrowth, lifting, ascending. Overstudy. Sexual excess, sexual irregularities, grief, disappointed love, unpleasant news. Operation for fistula. Getting wet.
  • General: numbness and crawling
  • Worse: change of weather ; Drafts, cold; melting snow , dentition , mental exertion, loss of fluids , puberty, fruits; cider, motion
  • Better: Summer ; warm, dry weather, lying down , lying on abdomen during restless night,
  • Psychological: Peevish, forgetful; after grief, insecure, uncertain, scared, anxiety, desire for change, desire for travel
  • Other symptoms: tendency to perspiration and glandular enlargement
  • Food and drink: craving for bacon, ham, salted or smoked meats , raw, salty, salami, sweets, child suffers from colic after feeding
