Essiac is a tea developed by the Ojibwa tribe of Canada and prepared from a mixture of four herbs; Arctium lappa, Rumex acetosella, Ulmus rubra and Rheum officinale. Each of these herbs have been found to possess antioxidant and anti-cancer properties. [1]

Uses

The uses of Essiac tea are as follows:[1]

  • Cancer. Essiac tea possesses potent antioxidant and DNA-protective activity, which are properties common to anti-cancer agents. It is found to strengthen the immune system, improve appetite, relieve pain, and improve overall quality of life. [2]
