Foods that promote dampness refers the energetic properties of food. Foods that have been found to increase dampness, thereby slowing down digestion, should be avoided (minimize these foods in your diet). These include:

  • Fruits such as bananas, concentrated juices (especially orange and tomato), and other excess fruit
  • Wheats such as bread, yeast, and beer
  • Dairy products
  • Meats such as pork and rich meats, saturated fats
  • Nuts such as roasted peanuts
  • Sweeteners such as sugar
