Blood Tonics refer the energetic properties of food. In asian medicine certain conditions such as bacterial and viral infections require the tonification of blood. The different foods that help to acheive this are:

  • Beans such as aduki beans, kidney beans
  • Fruits such as apricot, grape, date, peach
  • Meat such as beef, liver
  • Vegetables such as beet, chili peppers, chive, dark leafy greens, onion, parsley, scallion, spinach, watercress
  • Seafood such as crab, octopus, oyster, sardine, sturgeon
  • Herbs such as dandelion, nettle, fig, mustard leaf
  • Glutinous rice such as sweet rice
  • Nuts such as chestnut
  • Vinegar
  • Eggs
  • Other foods such as spirulina
