YIN TONICS

Yin Tonics refer the energetic properties of food. Any condition involving yin deficiency or weakness is often treated with yin tonics. Foods that are known to tonify yin include:
- Fruits such as apple, apricots, bananas, blackberry, blueberry, cantaloupe, dates, lychee, mango, pear, pineapple, pomegranate, raspberries, lemon, star fruit, watermelon
- Vegetables such as asparagus, beets, cucumber, peas, spinach, tomato, yam
- Grains such as barley, millet, malt, quinoa, rice
- Beans and legumes such as blackbeans, mung beans, green beans, kidney bean, string bean, tofu
- Sweeteners such as brown sugar, honey, royal jelly
- Dairy such as cheese, coconut milk, eggs, milk
- Seafood such as clam, crab, cuttlefish, oyster, shrimp
- Meat such as duck, pork, rabbit
