Pinus montana or Mountain pine, is a tree with scales of cones or pines that are equipped with small hooks. It grows wild in the mountain regions of France and acclimates well to both cold weather and to the hot sun. This tree has a long straight trunk, with branches born covered with spiny leaves. Its cones have the ability to open or close in response to the degree of humidity in the air. The longevity of this tree is known to be 5000 years.[1]
