Standardized Exams

The North American Board of Examiners (NABNE)[1] was established in 1999 to set policies regarding the qualifications and administration of the Naturopathic Physicians Licensing Examinations (NPLEX)[2].

  • NPLEX exams are written after 2nd year and after 4th year of the naturopathic medical program.
  • Only graduates of CNME [3] schools are eligible to write NPLEX.
  • Students must pass NPLEX in order to eligible for licensure in any of the 16 regulated states or 5 regulated provinces that license/regulate naturopathic physicians.
  • There are multiple resources available for students to utilize for preparing for the NPLEX exams. The updated list is available here [4].
  • Unlike USMLE and MCAT prep, there are only a couple of preparatory courses offered for NPLEX. They are listed here [5].
  • The best all-in-one resource center that is supported by the accredited institutions is Pass NPLEX [6]
